As a full-time traveler, I am not a carry-on girl. If I’m going to live out of a suitcase all year long, I want to make sure I have all the comforts of life with me. But I’ll be the first to admit, having luggage can really get in the way of spontaneous adventures.
Maybe your flight doesn’t leave for another 10 hours and you want to hit the beach or you’ve got an obnoxiously long layover that you’d rather turn into a day exploring a new city. Or you’ve landed early and you can’t check in to your hotel for hours. Spending the day dragging your luggage around with you sounds like everyone’s idea of vacation, right?
Absolutely not.
I’ll be honest, I’ve been in this situation far too many times.
Which is why I was so excited to discover Bounce.
Bounce Luggage Storage
Bounce is the world’s largest luggage storage network, with over 14,000 locations across 100+ countries and 4,000+ cities. It’s been trusted by over 2 million travelers to store over 6 million bags.
Pretty impressive numbers. But what actually is Bounce?
Bounce is a network of luggage storage facilities that lets you store your bags in cities around the world. So you can leave your bags, knowing they’re somewhere safe, and get on with your travels.
I recently discovered Bounce on my trip around Vietnam – when the last thing I wanted to do was roll my suitcase through the Old Quarter of Hanoi or drag it onto a boat in Han La Bay. As it turns out, Bounce offers safe, affordable storage options worldwide, including several locations across Hanoi.
Bounce Luggage Storage has features like easy online booking, 24/7 access at some locations, and up to $10,000 in insurance coverage which makes it a huge no-brainer for me! Knowing that my stuff is protected makes leaving it behind so much easier.
Bounce also has an incredibly generous cancellation policy which means if your plans change, or if you’re suddenly able to check into your hotel early, you can easily cancel your booking. If you cancel more than an hour before drop off you get a full refund to your payment method. If you cancel less than an hour before you’ll receive a refund in Bounce credit.
YUP, you read that right. You can still get a full refund if you cancel an hour before you’re meant to drop off your bag.
How Does Bounce Luggage Storage Work?
Booking with Bounce Luggage Storage is incredibly easy. You can visit their website or download their app to search for the city where you’d like to store your luggage. Once you find your city, enter the number of bags, days, and time for storage, and pay, and then they’ll email you a confirmation to show at the location.
It’s like booking a hotel for the day – but for your luggage.
And it’s so much safer than leaving your bags at your hotel (for example). Bounce provides insurance on your luggage for up to $10,000 which gives you the peace of mind to enjoy your day, luggage-free.
How Much Does Bounce Luggage Storage Cost?
The price for storing your luggage with Bounce varies depending on the region, city, or country that you are in. If you wanted to leave your luggage in Hanoi for example, a regular bag would start at $3.20 per day. You also have to pay a fee of $2.80 for two bags. If you leave your luggage for longer than a day that fee doesn’t change.
Pros of using Bounce
- No cancellation fee! Even if you cancel less than an hour before your booking you’ll receive a refund in Bounce credits.
- You can also use Bounce for long-term storage (up to a month!)
- They have three easy sizes to choose from (small purses or tote bags, suitcases and backpacks, or surfboards/irregular-sized bags). This means my big 20kg suitcase doesn’t cost me more than my husband’s 10kg backpack.
- Bounce is cashless which means even in cash-heavy countries you can still pay in advance and just easily drop your bags.
- Your bags are insured for up to $10,000.
Cons of Using Bounce
- You need to make sure that you check the opening and closing times of the location in question – they will be firm on those hours.
- The prices are based on 24-hour – instead of hourly. This means you don’t save anything if you just want to leave your bags for a couple of hours as opposed to an entire day.
As with every service, make sure you read the reviews left on each individual Bounce location before booking. When we were looking for luggage storage in Hanoi, we wanted to make sure we booked somewhere where travelers had left their luggage for longer periods – and that it was a nice, clean location.
I’m so happy that I found Bounce Luggage Storage. It’s going to make my travel days a lot easier – and we already know that travel days tend to be the most stressful days of your trip.
With thousands of good reviews, easy cancellation policies, and up to $10,000 in insurance for your bags, there’s no reason not to use Bounce on your next vacation! Find out where you can store your luggage with Bounce on their website or app.
